BLOSSOM UP

BLOSSOM UP

Look up to enjoy a spectacle peculiar to this time of year.

Above us clutches of curious little stars bobbing about on the breeze.

Glowing against a ceiling of grey cloud they hang like ornaments spread out across branch, teasing through leaf.

Every day a little bolder as pale pastel petals unfurl from tiny pinpricks.

A season starting ever earlier as gentle notes of honey barely discernible on the nose translate olfactory promises of bountiful cherry and crab apple come harvest.

Soaking up sunlight during daytime hours, so as dusk descends, they take on a translucent quality, that we may linger longer out of doors.

Well-worn tell-tales of Spring.
