Just up the road from our independent perfumery in West Wales there is much hustle and there is definitely bustle.
From where we live and work to the ancient parish of Llantwd our lanes are festooned with festive bunting. Strange figures appear otherworldly by the roadside.
There is chatter. There is even traffic (a rarity here in our neck of the woods).
Because it is time to come together.
To sit together.
It is time for Eisteddfod (pronounced eye-STETH-vod)
Two words fusing - eistedd ("to sit"), bod ("to be").
Two ways of life colliding - the old, the new.
ORTIR perfumes rooted as they are in Wales were born from these very same ideals. A desire to inextricably link contemporary with tradition. To share this country’s incredible sense of history, its wealth of beauty, its story.
Of celebrating everything that is this beautiful place. From what it offers up from its soil to the lyrical language that resounds here.
And we do this through the medium of scent.
I’ve been more than delighted with recent trials of a new 10 ml edp format - the result of countless requests for an edition you can pop in your pocket.
At Barnes Fragrance Fair they flew (it didn’t hurt that the glorious Alice du Parcq featured DÔL in her Scents for Self-Care, so much so that we sold out on the day :)
So here I am, reloaded and ready to go in time for Eisteddfod – and you can get yours from our on-line store.
And I am so smitten with them that that I am including FREE UK Standard delivery on these for the foreseeable.
An excellent way to join with us in celebrating Welsh culture, to enjoy ORTIR perfume, to read along with Alice et al.
