PLANTING AROMATICS. YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOR TOMORROW

PLANTING AROMATICS. YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOR TOMORROW

Here at our niche perfumery on the very edge of Wales we like to grow scented crops to be harvested and then distilled for our fragrances just like they used to.

Did you know that until relatively recently essential oils were produced locally and on a commercial scale right across Britain? From Norfolk lavenders to Home County peppermints, a century ago our countryside was scattered with copper stills and scented by world class perfumery ingredients.

Good soil and suitable climatic conditions were not going to be easy to find this far West but we have continued to add to our trial beds as well as collaborate with other growers working towards ever greater sustainable horticultural practices.

Striking out to grow anything that could be useful from root to petal we have now worked with a wide and varied selection of aromatics, staggering our harvesting seasons over the longest possible period of time.

Like in the good old days.
