At niche perfumery ORTIR Apothecari we have been reading an article entitled “Worth its spritz in gold” - a fantastic insight into the world and the rise of niche fragrance.
Fragrances that are handmade in small batches and that showcase rare (often natural) ingredients. If you can step away from its primary investigation into the rise of the £250 perfume, you will get a feel for the principle of great perfumery practice.
It is no surprise to us that the article discusses sustainable farming and the effects of climate change on crop yields. For several years now our trial beds have given us hands on experience growing increasingly diverse crops and with it a real education in raw perfumery ingredients.
And as each of the ORTIR perfumes boasts a high concentration of quality ingredients that are produced in limited quantities they are prized for their exclusivity.
And so we are back to the niche perfume movement of which we as play a part.
