Up against some seriously big players, and being as far from the madding crowd as we are, we are honoured that ORTIR Apothecari, our niche perfumery all the way out here in the very west of Wales, has been recognised by The Fragrance Foundation UK.
Every year the fragrance industry gathers for National Fragrance Week - a celebration made up of events and announcements highlighting the ins and outs of this very special industry.
Organised by The Fragrance Foundation UK (the not-for-profit body setting standards of excellence for the industry) this year is particularly special for ORTIR Apothecari as this week we have been announced as finalists for their prestigious award, The Fragrance Foundation Newcomer Award. Set up in the UK in 1992 and known as the Oscars of the fragrance industry, these Awards recognise excellence within the fragrance arena.
Earlier this year I talked to The Fragrance Foundation UK about creating perfumes that were traceable and anchored to a sense of time as well as place.
We discussed how the signature style of ORTIR Apothecari is more about our approach to perfumery. By being in control of key ingredients, making the journey from field to bottle extra special as well as authentic. This transparency in sourcing ingredients is something that the fragrance industry is really keen to explore.
