Here we are, 2026, my mind as tangled as a string of fairy lights.

Hardly.
Mild trepidation sets in as I gingerly head back into the real world.
2025 was a rollercoaster for our independent perfume house, ORTIR Apothecari, so it makes absolute sense to begin this New Year making scents from all its accomplishments and opportunities.
Back when I was decking the halls I had imagined a festive season kicking back and rebooting.
Getting ahead.
Clearing the calendar like a dump of snow shovelled on then empty pages of January for future consideration.
But here I am. Frazzled and with lots of complicated things to do.
Life is a balancing act. Too far in one direction, overcompensating in the other.
Looking for resolution I turn to the rejuvenating properties of fragrant oil:
Lavender to placate those anxious thoughts,
Neroli to instil a state of calm in an overactive mind,
Frankincense to encourage deep inhalation of positivity and exhalation of negativity.
